Jazz and Popular Music 

This major has a strong practical focus and enables you to develop knowledge and practical experience through performance (vocal or instrumental), composition and arrangement in a variety of jazz and popular music styles. You will have individual lessons on your chosen instrument with experienced teachers who are the best in their field. These one-on-one lessons are conducted in a range of modes including video technology, allowing you to study with some of the best teachers in the country no matter where you are studying. You will also study units in music theory, music history and music technology to prepare you thoroughly for a career in music performance or for further post-graduate studies in education and performing arts.

Performance 

This major has a strong practical focus and enables you to develop knowledge and practical experience through performance (vocal or instrumental) or composition in a wide variety of music styles. You will have individual lessons on your chosen instrument with experienced teachers who are the best in their field. You will also study units in music theory, music history and music technology to prepare you thoroughly for a career in music performance or for further post-graduate studies in education and performing arts.
